The Academia Bilingüe de la Comunidad Public Charter School (ABC), which opened in the Fall of 2005, is a Bilingual English and Spanish total-immersion Public Charter School in Washington DC, serving grades 6-8.

The mission of the ABC is to graduate adept learners, effective communicators, and community leaders who are culturally aware and prepared to use their academic skills and bilingual proficiency to succeed in rigorous high schools, post-secondary education and society.

ABC is a free public charter school that is open to all DC residents. All students, regardless of current English or Spanish proficiency, are welcome.

ABC is building a brand new school building at 209 Upshur Street, NW to be completed in the Fall of 2006.

* In February, 2006 the DC Public Charter School Board conducted a school audit at ABC. In their report, they summarized their findings based on observations at the school, discussions with school stakeholders, and a review of documents.
